I think I hate Bonnie

I mean she is quick to kill Damon. Yeah hes a douche sometimes lol. But that's how he is he really isn't doing anything wrong . like the whole setting him on fire when he didn't do anything and it was Caroline who killed a guy. She has just become annoying I think, and frankly its bull crap. She just thinks shes the most powerful person around so she flaunts her powers. And I'm not saying I completely hate her, I'm just saying she does SOME things that I don't like. I couldn't believe that she would keep saying remember I'm going to kill you if anyone gets hurt. I kind of thought she was against murder, but I don't know I guess she actually trusts Stefan, but that's it. She doesn't even trust Caroline lol. Okay that's enough of my rant.

Okay that's enough of my rant."You are not alone in your dislike of Bonnie, I'm discovering a lot of people are starting not to like her,including myself. I understand Bonnie do not like vampires,and she blame them for her Grams death, however, both of Elena's parents were killed in a car accident, however you do not see Elena hating cars.Jeremy was actual killed by a vampire, yet he do not act like bonnie. There is a differents between protecting the town,and hating a whole race of people because some of them have down unsavory things. What she did to Damon was wrong on all counts. I can understand if she set him on fire because he hurt someone,or killed someone , however in this case he wasn't truly at fault. Yes, Damon uses his blood to heal Caroline....however, it was at Bonnie's request. Yes, Katherine is Damon/Stefan's friend,and she killed Caroline. Yet, it was Bonnie who told Katherine about Damon healing Caroline,and where Caroline was at. So if Bonnie is willing to put the blame on Damon, she should be willing to share in that Blame. 5 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

When the show first started, I really like Bonnie. But as the first season progressed , I started hating her more and more with each passing episode....and I realize has nothing to do with Damon. It the character of Bonnie is written . We accept Damon, who's evil, because hell that who his character is. We accept him doing questionable or downright evil things. However, I have trouble accepting characters who are self righteous or lacking in self awareness and are under the impression that they are "good" while doing not exactly wholesome things. .. Bonnie lack self awareness. She show no remorse,or guilt over what happen to her so call best friend Caroline. I mean,her best friend Caroline has just been turned int a vampire, which means her friend as she once knew her, has died...yet Bonnie couldn't spare one ounce of compassion for her best friend? She showed empathy for Caroline who life have suddenly change. As a matter of fact, she was down right cold towards Caroline . I find it hard to empathize with a character who show no compassion ,or empathy for others. I find it hard and hard to find things to like about the character of Bonnie.

i definatley dont really like her. She's all im badass and if you do something wrong ill kill you teehee. I mean she was totally mean to Damon not that were not all pissed at him but still he doesnt deserve to die. Totally gayyyyyyyy. I hope she gets over the whole Caroline thing if not she wont have many friends if she gets flaunting her mean ass bennet witch act!!!!!!!!!

She said what makes a great antagonist is that although you are bthcy all the time, you also have to show a vulnerable side to the character. Bonnie the character of Bonnie do not display that . She seems angry all the time,and never seem to have fun. we never see a loving lighter side to Bonnie,nor do she show compassion. I think that is what make it hard for a lot of people to identify with her character. It's not enough to just say Bonnie's protecting the town from vampires ,or she hates all vampires because of what happen to her grams. It her actions we need to see. so far the only vampire Bonnie ever fought against has been Damon (and most recently Katherine. In Founder day, when the vampire were attacking the town, we did not see Bonnie. We did not see Bonnie until Elena ask her to help save Damon. In the Return, Bonnie and Damon was chatting, when Damon mention Bonnie's guilt over Caroline being hurt in a car accident. Bonnie gives Damon a "Magical Headache". Damon was only engaging in simple banter, he wasn't hurting her ,or threatening her. CONTINUE~ 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

While at Mayor Lockwood 's funeral,Bonnie had her first encounter with Katherine. She tells Katherine all about Damon healing Caroline,and Caroline being in the hospital, before she realize it Katherine and not Elena. That fine .It was a mistake anyone could make, however what she did next is not. Bonnie knew she had given Katherine way to much info, but she fail to mention that to Damon,or Stefan.Bonnie also fail to check on Caroline,after her encounter with Katherine. But we are to believe she protecting her friends. If Bonnie only out to protect her town from vampires, than why is she only focus on Damon? Why haven't she went after Katherine? Well i haven't seen season 2 yet.It airs somewhere in November if i'm not mistaken.But Bonnie already had this kind of issues eversince she came back.After her grams died off course.Your frenemy turned into a vampire,she wouldn't if she didn't told Damon to give Caroline his blood.So i think it's Bonnie fault that this happened.I don't like the new Bonnie attitude.I don't hate Bonnie,just don't like the new Bonnie.

Frankly I love the new Bonnie. She is essentially a Dirty Harry-esque character who has decided to root out the evil in the town by any means necessary. Yes she was super harsh to Caroline, but in her defense, the girl had just killed a man, and as far as killing Damon, while I would rather he survived because he is fun, he is definately a bad person. Stefan doesn't eat humans, and is therefore OK. To me, Bonnie has decided to use her power for the good of the town, and is willing to sacrifice anything to do that. She is awesome.

She is suppose o be working on the side of good, but she not really showing any of the characteristic of a person truly on the side of good. Bonnie have not displayed , compassion, empathy, nor vulnerability. In the past Strong female (and Male) heroine /hero has shown some form of those traits, to let you know that they are truly good. Buffy,and Willow from Buffy the vampire slayer, both were strong female character fighting on the side of good, but they never took advantage of someone because they could (besides when Willow went dark),as Bonnie did when she gave Damon a magical headache because she didn't like what he said about her guilt,and setting him on fire,although what happen to Caroline wasn't his fault. Which makes me wonder about Bonnie 's wired eye glaze thing? She haven't been herself since her Grams died. Did anyone notice that Bonnie seem to lack emotions? ,and why come Bonnie didn't tell Elena and Stefan that she told Katherine about Caroline? It seem like after she figure out that encounter with Katherine, she would have told someone that she mention Caroline,and Damon healing her...and it seem like she would have at least went to check on Caroline to make sure she was o.k. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Yeah, but Bonnie was not that way in the books. She was so caring and a best friend to Elena and the (sadly nonexistent in the show) character Meredith. I really liked her in the books. What happened?!?Mmmhmm. She's so judgemental and I think that is hard to relate to. Also, if Damon of Stefan has ANY second hand or accidental involvement in a situation that results in someone being hurt or dying, Bonnie is the first to point the finger. However, what about when she told Katherine (who she thought was Elena) about Damon healing Caroline? What about when she was supposed to take the spell off the vampire weapon invention and she DIDN'T and Mayor Lockwood, not a vampire (but a total dick haha), died?
