book vs. tv show
In the books stefan live in a boarding house, and damon lived where ever he could. But in the show they lived in a big house with their uncle zack, until damon killed him.

What did Bonnie do to Elena on the TV show. It seems to me she loves Elena very much. the only betrayel i know of is when she tried to have Damon killed by the Gilbert contraption. I love Bonnie from TV and the books. I've only read a little bit of the books. I do wish she could be a little more happier on the show. I want to see her drink and dance more like in the books. i hope that her and Damon will get drink together.

SERIES OVER BOOK
The book seems to outdated and the characters tacky. Elena as brunette and not the typical blonde bombshell is an example, plus her character in the series can relate more to normal girls and seems more moral than Elena in the book. The vampire/werewolf/witch history in the series is A BILLION TIMES WAAAY BETTER than what was written in the books. Overall, the characters in the series are more interesting and fit their roles better than those in the book. The plot in the tv series is also better and less goofy than in the book. Even the history of Mystic Falls and the Salvatore Brothers/Elena/Katherine love triangles are better in the series

Vampire Diaries Books suck!
Elena in the book seems bitchy. And daman and stefan in the 1500s. no way. Damon as a human?! No no no. Elena has blode hair? the books just seem too different and stupid. my opinion. Tv show is way way way better. I like stefan's diaries books though(:

books vs tv
i have to disagree with half the stuff that was put in the category's at the top, i prefer the series so much more than the books. In the books Elena is pictured as this blonde air head whos only interest is boys and that;s the only thing she needs in life; a boyfriend, whereas in the series she's this very sweet, conserved girl who has been through tragedy which to me seems a lot more endearing for a character. I mean Stefan, being 100s of years old has obviously been through a lot and has a very interesting background, so why would he want to date a blonde 'bimbo' type who is not really interesting at all and comes across as a girl who would only like to talk about boys and clothes, it just doesn't make sense, where as in the book they both have stuff in common and you can see why both brothers are drawn to her. I'm glad the series is a lot different from the books because different things can happen that don't in the book and there is lots more possibility. I just want Damon and Elena to be together in the series that would make me happy.
