The Vampire Diaries Book: The Awakening

	This is what it says on the back of the book: Elena: beautiful and popular, the girl who can have any boy she wants. Stefan: brooding and mysterious, desperately trying to resist his desire for Elena...for her own good. Damon: sexy, dangerous, and driven by an urge for revenge against Stefan, the brother that betrayed him. Elena finds herself drawn to both brothers.... Who will she choose?
	~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Summary Spoiler Elena is the most beautiful and popular girl at Robert E. Lee High School. She is on her way to school when she notices a strange row in a tree that looks like it's watching her. She throws a stone at it and it flies away. Stefan is now in Fell's Church and on his way to Robert E. Lee High School. elena meets up with her three best friends Meredith,Caroline, and Bonnie, but Caroline acts like she hates Elena and says a few rude comments to her.Bonnie reads Elena's palm and says, "You will meet a dark stranger and he was tall once, but not now." At that moment Elena spots Stefan.She follows him, but he completely ignores her. Stefan has occasional flashbacks about his times in Italy with Katherine. matt asks Stefan if he wants to do football with them, but he says no. Elena tries to approach him again, but he quickly says he'll do football and walked away quickly. Later, Bonnie and Meredith confronted Elena and they blood promised to do anything elena said to do in relation to Stefan. Some unknown force caused the girls to run off, and Elena left behind her ribbon. ~~~ Elena spread some rumors about Stefan to keep people away from him then acted like she didn't care about him anymore. She started spreading rumors about her new boyfriend too. Afterwards, the girls find out that someone almost died from an 'animal attack.' Elena goes to Homecoming Dance and asks Stefan to dance with her, but they were interupted by Caroline. Elena gets embarassed and runs off to the cemetary with Tyler Smallwood, Vicki Bennet, and Dick. Her friends go after her. elena and Tyler go off by themselves where Tyler forces himself on her. Stefan arrives and beats Tyler up. He takes Elena to his house, and they kiss. Meredith, Bonnie, and Matt find a hysterical Vicki running from the cemetery. Stefan drives Elena home to find that Vicki had been attacked. Stefan now thinks Elena isn't a reincarnation of Katherine. He has another flashback of the love triange between Stefan, Katherine, and Damon. They had her choose between them, but she turned them both into vampires behind the other's back. She said she chose both of them. Stefan and Damon fight and kill each other, and wake up as vampires. Back in the present, Elena goes to visit Stefan, and while he's not in the room, she discovers her ribbon that she had lost. ~~~~A while later, Elena, Meredith, and Bonnie are discussing on how they are going to do the Haunted House this year in their school gym when the lights go out. Bonnie and Meredith go to figure out what's going on, and leave Elena alone. She feels like someone is in the room. A man that was entirely dressed in black came out of the darkness. They exchange some words in which gets Elena suspicious and frightened of him. He tried to kiss her when she whipped her head to the side. She ran away just before he said her name, which she hadn't mentioned. Elena and Meredith spent the night at Bonnie's house. That night Bonnie wanted to try out a ritual with elena that finds out who you are going to marry. Elena started it,with Bonnie and Meredith in the other room, and at midnight, Elena whispered "come in." The same man from the gym came in and tried to talk Elena into coming with him which just confuses her. She says to herself that she didn't like him because his voice did strange things to her. He leaves saying that he'll only leave for only for the moment. ~~~~ Elena and Stefan leave for the Haunted House. Bonnie is there dressed as a druid and desperately tried to get Mr. Tanner to wear the fake blood. Stefan steps in and talks Mr. Tanner into doing it. They start the Haunted House and let everyone in. bonnie takes the kids through only to find Mr. Tanner dead with his throat torn open. They get the lights on, and Tyler talks everyone into thinking Stefan is the one who is attacking people, and killed Mr. Tanner. They start a search for him. Matt found him before the others and helped him escape. Elena decides to go look for Stefan and starts at his house. She finds his room destroyed and a ladder to the roof. She climbs up and sees stefan with a dead dove in his bloody mouth. She fell from the roof and Stefan catches her. He then tells her that he's a vampire, and he tells her about Katherine and Damon. He tells her about how they killed Katherine. He says that they demanded she choose one of them. Katherine ran off crying and the next day they found her ring that protects her against the sun and her best dress with ashes in it. ~~~~When he was finished, Elena protests that they didn't kill her. She killed herself. She also says that she knows he didn't hurt those people. Stefan asked her who else could it be and she answers "Damon." She explains that Damon could be disguised like a crow. Stefan believes this. Elena realizes that the strange man she kept seeing was Damon. ~~~~Stefan goes out to the woods and is confronted by Damon. Damon says that Elena isn't Stefan's type. Stefan realizes that Damon is a lot stronger than the other times he had seen him. Damon shows off to him and then uses his strength to beat him up. Damon threatens that he's taking Elena from him, and if Stefan tries to stop him, he'll kill him. Stefan walks away weakly when he passes out. Elena goes to school and finds out that Stefan has disappeared. She sees that everyone shows distrust about Stefan and runs off to find Damon. She ran straight to the graveyard. She yells,"Damon!"
