Did Anyone Feel Sorry for Katherine?
Katherine was legitimately moved when Stefan confessed his feelings back in 1864. She saw that he genuinely loved her, which must have been a big deal for her since she was probably used to being seen as a ferocious leader (by her fellow vamps) or a pretty face (by most humans). But Katherine thought Stefan truly loved her for who she was. And he thought she was an angel, he said as much. As she heard that, she knew it wasn't true and that, in reality, she was a monster. But she likes that Stefan love her ,without her having to do anything to earn his love. She compel him not to be afraid of her, but she didn't have to compel him to love her.


I think Katherine is the classic love story of the bad guy/gal who believes he/she can change for the love of a good gal/guy and, for Katherine Pierce, that guy is, was and always will be Stefan. Just like Damon and Stefan feel they can change for the love of Elena. In a way, I want Katherine and Stefan to be together,and I feel sorry for her because I know that will not happen.

Does anyone else feel sorry for Katherine?

So what are the right ones?

Who/what is Katherine running from? There was a reason she wanted to fake her death, and there's a reason (beyond Stefan imo) she's finally back--and I think Elena is somehow involved in it. It seemed to me that Katherine knows why she and Elena look alike, might even have had something to do with it . I believe Katherine when she said that she came back for Stefan,and I do believe she loves him. However, I do not believe that is the only reason she back. If it was all about Stefan, she would have killed Elena when she had stab Jonathan Gilbert. If Katherine wanted Elena dead, she had plenty of chances to kill her. So the big question is why is she allowing Elena to live? She could have killed Elena prior to announcing her return. Therefore, no one would have suspect her of killing Elena,and Stefan would be free to be with her. So if Elena is asking the wrong questions, what are the right ones?

Does anyone else think Emily "KNEW" that Katherine wasn't in the tomb, when she made the deal with Damon to save the tomb vampire from burning in the fire?

[Emily destroyed the necklace in episode 1.08 "History Repeating". Emily reveals that in order to save Katherine, the other 26 vampires trapped in the church were also saved. Damon confronts Emily in the woods about reneging on their deal, but when he threatens her, she uses her power to impale him on a tree.]
