Mini-synopsis: The episode opens with a worried Caroline who is shocked to see her own bitten neck in the mirror. Damon attacks her again, but the next day at school she arrives with a scarf around her neck and tells Bonnie and Elena about her new beau.

Stefan joins the football team and becomes an excellent wide receiver due to his reflexes.

Elena tries to get Bonnie and Stefan to get along by hosting a dinner. Bonnie is still freaked out by the psychic impression she got in the last episode by touching Stefan' hand. Damon and Caroline arrive to crash the party and the brothers argue in the kitchen. Damon forces Stefan to talk about Katherine, who Stefan says died in a fire.

Stefan gives Elena a necklace with an herb in it to protect her from Damon. It works when Damon tries to convince her to kiss him.

The next day Jeremy and Tyler have a fight over...you guessed it...Vicki. Stefan and Damon also have a confrontation. Stefan tells Damon that he's still human somewhere because he loved Katherine. In order to prove him wrong, Damon kills the football coach.

Everyone suspects an animal...but Elena's curiosity is peaked by Stefan's noticeable lack of a wound from his fight.

After the action dies down, the episode ends with Stefan writing in his journal. He realizes that Damon is pure evil and what had been human died long ago.
