Mini-synopsis: It's the last episode until the new year....sigh! The main plot takes lace at the school's career night. Jeremy sees some drawings done by Tyler, similar to the mythical creatures that Jeremy used to draw. He tries to bond with Tyler, but they end up arguing over Vickie and getting in a fight. The mayor pulls the boys outside and Alaric asks where they are going. The mayor says that all fights should end in handshakes, but he encourages them to fight outside. Alaric comes to the rescue and the fights stops. Later Jeremy argues again with Tyler and asks him what his problem is. He says he doesn't know.....but the full moon is framed inside of the shot. Hmmmmmm.....
On the Elena/Stefan front, Stefan breaks his word and shows up at the school (as if we thought he wouldn't!). She's mad at first, but then seems to warm up to him, but more on that later.
As last episode showed, Logan Fell is back in Vampire form. Damon tracks him down and the two have a confrontation in the warehouse. Logan wants to know how Damon can walk around during the day and Damon wants to know who turned Logan. Neither relents. Logan ends up shooting Damon with wooden bullets and leaving him for dead and makes his way to career night. There Stefan has the same question for him, but he escapes and runs into the sherrif - she knows he's a vampire because she buried him. Logan leaves and then gives Caroline a ride home...he knocks her out by banging her head against the window. Then he calls the Sheriff to taunt her with his capture. But it's the Salvatore brothers to the rescue! Stefan takes Caroline home and then Damon takes care of Logan. They fight and Logan refers to the Salvatore boys as not the only people who want to know how to get into the tomb. This intrigues Damon and he agrees to meet Logan at the church tomb later that night.
Stefan goes back to the school after dropping off Caroline and finds Elena. They have a very tense ride home and Elena tells him that she loves him, no matter what she decides. They end up doing the deed, although at first Stefan gets that blackened, evil vampire eye thing. They cuddle and talk about Stefan coming and going. He leaves to get her something to drink and she snoops around. For the first time, she sees a picture of Katherine. She freaks out and leaves.
Logan arrives at the warehouse and Alaric is waiting for him. He's not a vampire...he's a hunter! He tells Logan that Jenna deserves the best and he's here to make sure that she gets it. Logan tries to attack and Alaric stabs him through the heart. Back at the school, Tyler gives Matt a ride home and tells him that he likes Caroline and doesn't care what Tyler thinks. The sheriff checks on Caroline and then leaves her after she gets a call.
The sheriff calls Damon to thank him for Logan's death, but Damon has no idea what she's talk about. He takes the compliment anyway. Stefan returns to an empty room where Elena has left her necklace on the picture of Katherine. Elena is seen driving home as a man shows up in front of her car. She hits him on accident and her car rolls upside down. She sees the figure stand up and walk toward the car.....she screams! And it fades to black!! | | |
