Chapter 1
Bonnie’s POV
I was walking home from Meredith’s house when it happened. I’d been going there a lot lately,
since Elena, and Stefan were on their honeymoon, and Matt was spending so much time with
his new girlfriend, Rebecca lately. After Elena, and Stefan’s wedding, Matt finally got over Elena,
and met Rebecca. I didn’t know her that well, but she seemed really nice. Anyway, I was
walking home, when four incredibly gorgeous guys leaped out in front of me. I could tell that
they were vampires, because their eyes had a predatory look, about them, and I could’ve sworn
that I saw sharp fangs in between those perfect, full lips. When I stopped walking, they smiled
hungrily at me. I couldn’t help but shudder. “Cute little red head huh?”, one of them laughed.
Another one nodded, and continued to stare at me. “Yeah, a cute little helpless red head.” I
instantly knew what they were up to, and I was stupid enough to try to run. They caught me
instantly, of course, and took turns tearing at my throat. The pain was probably the worst pain
I’ve ever felt in my life, but no matter how much I screamed, no one would hear me. We were
too far away from any house or building. But they didn’t just drink my blood. They did many
unforgettably horrible things to me. I would rather not go into detail. After they were done with
me, my clothes were shredded, I was covered in my own blood, and everything hurt. They left
me up in a tree, where no one could find me. I was so weak, that there was no way I was going
to make it back home alone. They probably thought I would be dead before anyone found me. I
was surprised that they didn’t just kill me right then, and there. They probably just wanted me
to suffer. As I laid in the tree, I used my telepathic powers to call for help. I was too weak to
even know who I was signaling. But when I looked up, I was surprised to see Damon standing
over me, his expression was a mixture of deep worry, and anger.
Chapter 2
No one’s POV
Damon didn’t think he had ever felt so angry. Not even when Elena had chosen Stefan over
him. No, this was much worse than this. He looked down at his little bird. She looked horrible.
She was covered in blood, had scares, and bruises everywhere, and her clothes were shredded.
More anger flared through him noticing this, realizing what they had probably done to her.
Bonnie looked up at him with a surprised expression for a few moments, then slowly closed her
eyes. Damon instantly reacted, and bit his own wrist, causing the blood to flow. He bent next to
Bonnie, tilting her head back, and pressing his wrist to her lips. He pried open her mouth, and
let the blood flow into it. Though she looked completely unconscious, she managed to swallow
the blood, with his help. After a few moments, some of the color returned to her cheeks, and
her breathing became even again. She was going to live. After that, Damon desperately wanted
to go out, and hunt down whoever did this to her. But he knew he had to get her out of the
cold before she froze to death. As gently as he could, he scooped her up into his arms, and
began to run, holding her to his chest. He was going to take her to the boarding house. There
was no one there at the moment, but it was the only place he could think of. When they got
there, he laid her on Stefan’s bed, and went down to the bathroom to start filling the tub. He
should probably get that blood off her, before the smell became too tempting for him. When
the tub was filled, he took off the few clothes she had left, and lowered her into the tub.
Bonnie’s POV
When I felt the warm water on my body, I instantly woke up, and found myself in Stefan’s
bathroom. I was shocked when I realized that I was sitting in the bathtub, and that Damon was
sitting beside it, holding my head up. I blushed, realizing that he must have taken my clothes
off. He gave me a small smile, that almost looked forced. “Your awake.” I nodded, not knowing
what to say. I was still trying to face the fact that I was still alive. I’d thought for sure that I was
dead this time, but no. Damon has saved my life again. I was grateful, but also really
embarrassed. Why did I always have to be the damsel in distress around this guy?
Chapter 3
Bonnie’s POV
It was really awkward, just sitting there in the bathtub, with Damon staring at me. But I felt an
excruciating pain in my neck, where those vampires had bit me, and I winced, and I felt tears
coming to my eyes. Surprisingly, Damon reached over to wipe the tears off my face, and I froze.
Who was this guy, and what did he do to Damon? Why was he all of a sudden being so gentle?
Also, when I looked into his eyes, and saw how pained he looked. Was it because of me? If I
wasn’t in so much pain, I would have laughed at that thought. Damon doesn’t give a damn
about me. But he was doing a good job at acting like it, as he gently rubbed a sponge around
my face, and across my body. Cleaning off the blood. Or was he just doing it to get a good look
at me? It seemed like something he’d do. But I let him do it. One, because I was too weak to do
it myself, and two, because I was too weak to stop him, even if I wanted too. After about a
twenty minutes, I was completely cleaned. But when Damon started to lift me out of the tub, I
objected. “I think I can do it myself.” He handed me a towel, and stepped back. I pointed at the
door. I knew that he probably already saw my body getting me into the tub, but it was still
uncomfortable. He sighed, but surprisingly, left the room, and shut the door. I stood up to get
at of the tub, but I immediately felt a sharp pain at standing up, and felt back into the tub. I
couldn’t hold back a small scream. Damon was back in the room in a flash, and pulled me out of
the water. I was in too much pain to feel embarrassed about being naked. “What happened?”
Damon asked as he held me against his chest. I hiccupped, and answered. “I I fell”, I stuttered.
He didn’t say a word, he just gently wrapped the towel around me, and carried me out of the
bathroom, and laid me down on Stefan’s bed. He bent down to look me in the eyes. And
surprisingly, his dark eyes were filled with concern. Hmm. Maybe he really did care. “Do you
want to wear some of Elena’s clothes, or do you just want to wait until tomorrow to get
dressed?” I shook my head. “I’ll just keep the towel wrapped around me.” I really didn’t have
the energy to get dressed. I was already falling asleep. Damon nodded, and went over to turn
off the light. But, almost hesitantly, he bent down to kiss my forehead. I was glad that the light
was off, because I was sure that I was blushing. Or looked completely shocked. “Goodnight
Bonnie”, he said as he went out the window. “Goodnight Damon”, I said a second too late.
Then I drifted off to sleep.
Chapter 4
Bonnie’s POV
When I woke up the next morning, I surprised to see Stefan, and Elena leaning over me, an
angry expression on both their faces. Then I remembered what had happened last night, and
immediately worried about how I most look. I sat up, clutching the blanket tightly to me. Stefan
suddenly turned to Elena. “I’m going to kill him”, he said through gritted teeth. Looking angry,
Elena nodded. “I’ll help you.” I instantly knew what they were thinking. “No! Damon didn’t do
this!” I defended, sounding a little more defensive then I meant to be. Stefan, still looking
madder than ever, turned back towards me. “Well, then who did?” Despite myself, I gulped. “I
don’t know. It was a group of vampires. But Damon had nothing to do with it. He saved me.”
Stefan looked around the room, still not looking convinced. “Then where is he?” he asked icily.
“Don’t have a panic attack, I’m right here.” We all turned to see an annoyed looking Damon
coming in through the window. “Where the hell were you!,” Stefan almost shouted. Damon
looked at his brother, still looking annoyed. “I was in the tree”, he said, pointing to the tree out
by the window. Stefan sighed, finally calming down. “Why were you in the tree?” Now Damon
looked a little angry. “Well, I had to keep watch, to make sure that those vampires didn’t come
back didn’t I?”, He snapped back. After a few moments of silent glaring, both brothers started
to calm down. “Alright, so what exactly happened?” Stefan asked, pointing at me, as though I
wasn’t even there. I’ll admit, it made me a little mad. Elena seemed to notice this, so she turned
towards Stefan, and Damon. “I think we should let Bonnie talk first.” Then they all three turned
towards me, expecting me to spill my story. Now I wasn’t sure if I didn’t mind not being
noticed.
