It is a nice sunny sunday.The weather is very nice and relaxing,which i could not enjoy of.All the blinds are shut in my room and it's dark inside.I could here the laughter of the neighbors and their children.I wish i was out there to,but it's impossible.I wish i could see him in broad daylight,touch him,feel him,talk and laugh with him.I have to wait till the sun goes down.Why did this happen to me?He accepts me the way i am,but unfortunatily i'm not a human anymore.I have to hide in daylight and come out in the dark.I would like to feel the sun on my skin again.James says that he loves me the way i am.He brings me to places and talk,make jokes,tells me what he has done for the day.There is also a secret about him.He is not even human,he's a werewolf.But there's something going to happen today.I can feel it,i can sense that it's not going to be something good.I have to know,i have to find out.But i can't leave my space,i can't make a move,i have to wait till the sun goes down.Oh way do i have to wait so long?I have 9 hours to go,why doesn't the clock tick faster? Come on hurry up,time why don't you run faster today,why are you taunting me?When i need you to slow down,you keep ticking faster and faster and now you're ticking way to slow.Why doesn't this feeling go away,it's getting worse! I know that something is about to happen,but can't know what,just a bad and horrible feeling.I hope nobody find out about me and James.Before continuing with my feelings and all that, i need to tell you ,how i became creature of the night.
It was August,15,1865.My parents are wealthy plantation owners.THey have about 200 hundred slaves working for them.Today is my birthday,the slaves has been working very hard to set up a huge birthday party for me.A lot of people has been invited,family,friends.The night was perfect,the stars are shinning and the moon was so bright.A wonderfull night.Families and friends,that i haven't seen for such a long time i see again.I told my parents,i wish for nothing else.This was the best 5th birthday i have.Some family stayed for a couple days,the rest returned the next day.A week after my birthday,we got unexpected visit from a very nice couple.Liesbeth and Benjamin Van Lewin,with 2 maiden ladys,Daisy and Bernice.Benjamin and Liesbeth said they needed a place to stay and they some work.They come from a country,which name i forgot,where there was a civilian war going on and they had lost everything they have been working for.THey don't have anything left and no place to go to.My mum ,who always has pitty for people, asked my daddy if he could help them.My daddy ,who always listen to mum,said that he needed a man who can watch over they field slaves and mum offcourse,said that she needed someone who can run the household and also who can look after me.
Mum asked Liesbeth:"Do you have any experience with children?" Yes,Ma'm,Liesbeth replied my mum.I do have experience with children,but i do not have any of my own.I have taken care of my sister children,whom i have lost in the war.I had loved them so much and taken care of them as they were my own.",Good mum said,then you can take care of little Bree for me.But i must warn you,she can be a hand full.I thought to myself, you never took care of me,it always has been Nana who took care of me.She was the one that fed me,clothe me and put me to sleep,i don't need somebody else!But i was to afraid to say something.They say what's right or wrong and decide what's good or bad for me.So the decicion was made.Nana had to wrk in the kitchen now and i have a new nana.
Lizzy, as i may call her from then on, was so nice made me forget that i had forgotten about nana and all the others,who were there for me when i needed them the most.The ones that i loved more than i loved my mum and daddy i have forgotten.
Years went by and mum past away,and i didn't cried at all.I had Lizzy,she was everything for me.Daddy made Benny,the most important man on the plantation.Those who did't want to live according the rules of Benny,disapeared suddenly.No one was ever hear or see from them again.And nobody asked about them either.
I was,i think,12years,when i saw nana,coming in my room again.She was so old and i can't remember the last time i saw her.How could i forget her,she looked after me from the day i was born till my fifth year!"My sweet Bree,she said,i must tell you something,you may not like,but you must listen to me.You know that i will never tell a lie,so listen very carefully to me.These people who has came in your home and your life are not what they seems to be.They look like humans,but they are not.All the people that has been missing,they have something to do with it.They are called vampires and they feed on human blood.They are here for a purpose,so you must be very carefull.Your parents has trusted them with everything they have and own.I do not know what they have in store for you,but please my young Lady,do be carefull and don't tell anybody about what i have told you.Then nana left and that was the last time i saw or heard from her again,because i told Benny and Lizzy what nana had told me.They laugh and laugh and said:"What kind of stories is she telling you to make you scared? There are no such thing as vampires and all other lies!"You do not believe any of this nonsens that they are tring to feed your brain with! I believed everything Lizzy and Benny are telling me.Other things were lies.Daddy past away and left everything for me and Lizzy and Ben as my guardians.They told me to sell everything and move to another city with them where there are more possibilities for me,which i did.WE moved to the city where everything was so diffrent from everything i know and that was when i learned the truth about Lizzy and Ben.
We were invited to this ball and i could go,because i was already 16.Ben and Lizzy were also coming along.It was a ball for the new governor.There will be dancing and alot of bachelors there,which i am looking forward to.Bernice was helping me to get dressed for the ball,Lizzy bought this lilac dress for me,itwas not those dark lilac,but a very light one.I loved it very much.Lizzy and Ben were also getting ready.
What a huge party,so many people and so beautiful.I keep staring at all these beautiful dresses and people.Young ones,middle age and offcourse the old ones.So many of them.Without looking where i was walking,i bumt into a very handsome young man and spilled some champagne on him.Oh gosh,i was so clumsy and so stupide that i ran away.He ran after me and said:"Why did you run,i was the one that was not looking?"I kept staring at you that i didn't even notice that i was waling towards you.I am very sorry that i have scared you away.Hello,my name is James.James Forrest and you are?I kept staring at those warm light brown eyes of him,his lips,that i din't notice that he was lending me his hand.Miss,are you alright?What,oh,yes,i am fine thank you.My name is Bree,i mean Bryanna Van Lewin.(Lizzy and Ben wanted me to use their name after we left).Are you family of LIesbeth and Benjamin Van Lewin?" , James asked.Yes, i said,do you know them?Not personally,but my parents does know them.Oh,i said,that's wonderfull.Mmmhh,he replied.I haven't seen you around here before,James said.No,oh,no,we just moved to the city.The city is so big and beautifull,offcourse,i haven't seen much from the city tho.I can show you around,if you want to?There are alot of places you need to know and see.I could pick you up tomorow and show you around.That would be great,i said.Tomorow 9 am,i'll be waiting for you.Wonderfull,James said,but shall we go back inside,before people starts wondering where we are.That would be fine,we shall go inside.
WE went back inside,where we danced,we talked,we laugh,we tell jokes and laugh at each jokes we tell.It was the most perfect night i could imagine.It was beautifull,perfect and he was so handsome,goodlooking,funny and a perfect gentleman.
The next morning he arrived at 9 sharp.James showed me alot of places,told stories of each building that he showed me,each history that was attached to those places.We had lunch at this beautifull garden.Everything was so perfect.I enjoyed every moment with him,i loved his voice,well everything about him i loved.Oh,gosh,i think i am in love with him !! What will i tell Lizzy and Ben ?!They agreed that i left this morning with James and not get involved with him.I may not fall in love with him.They said that he is not a suiteble match for me.He was a diffrent kind.I didn't understood what they meant by that,but did not asked.James and i spended alot of time together,when all of the sudden it stopped.Lizzy and Ben decided to move again and i have to come along.I couldn't argue with them,because i never did.I just couldn't.Without saying goodbye to the man i love so dearly,we moved away.Time passes by and then one day Lizzy dissapeared.no one knows where she went or why.Ben was very upset and was devasted.He would leave the house for days and then return in the mist of the night.One night i had these dreams and i woke up and went to Lizzy or it's now Bens room and wanted some comforting words,so i could go back to sleep.What i saw was above my nightmares and imagination.Ben was bitting a woman and was drinking her blood.Whats all this !? What does this mean?! Then i remembered the story that nana told me about vampires.Was Ben one,did he killed Lizzy,did Lizzy know about Ben? So many questions circles in my head and i have no answers for them.What is going on here?! I was trying to leave when i trpped over my own nightgawn.Ben heard me,grabbd me aand pulled me in his room.
"You shall not say a word about this to any one or you shall die like her!"I nodded no,i was so terrified about it.What am i suppose to do now? I have no friend nor family.I went to Daisy and Bernice their room,thought i would tell them,so they may know who their sir or master was.I was wrong,they knew it from the first day they worked for them.And they also told me their own secret,they are witches.They were no humans and i have been living for years with them,trusted them,believed in them and also loved them as they were my own.
We are being attacked,by dogs,i think,big dogs,they don't really look like dogs.Oh my god what are those creatures ?! THey are attacking Bernice,but we can't save her no more ! No matter what she may be i know her for quite a long time and i have been spending some times with her to.Ben and Daisy pulled me away and we went through the secret passage and got away."What are those beast?",i asked Ben.Because they're no ordinairy dogs.No,he said,they are werewolves.They found out that there are vampires and witches in town.We have to keep moving and go to another place. "Where are we going",i asked.Some place for us to stay for a while,till i know what to do next or what our next move should be.
We arrived at a place that is unknown to me,but familiar to the others.We stay at this huge masion,so beautifull and a lot of space.
Why is Ben in my room,what does he want? I acted like i was asleep,thought that he might go away.He didn't.He stayed,walked towards my bed,played with my hair,my face.What does he want,why isn't he leaving? Suddenly i stared at his dark eyes and said to me:"Do not make a sound,do not move,be quiet". The only thing i could do was nodded yes.
All of the sudden i felt a sting in my neck,Ben just bit me.
THe next morning i wake up and see some blood on my pillow case,but can't remember what happen.Was i dreaming or did it really happen? Did Ben really bit me last night?Why did he do it? I cleaned myself through and through,cleaned all bad taste and feeling i have.
I went to Daisy's room to ask her why Ben had bitten me.Daisy replied to my question:"Ben is a vampire,so was Lizzy.But Lizzy got reckless and people found out and they stake her.That's why we weren't worry about her dissapearence.We found out what she was doing at her night walks out.She was hunting for food or shall we say for blood.She was after human blood and that what cost her life.Ben warned her,that he will find some for her,but she was unpatience.Couldn't wait till Ben went hunting.They survive only on human blood.My blood is cursed,that's why they can't do me a thing.You are the only human near him right now,so that's why he bit you."Will i turn to one of these creature and how long will i live?"
"Not unless Ben wants you to be one and you can live for centuries."Ben is now 264 years old and Lizzy was 215 years.
"I don't want to be like them,i do not want to live that long.I want to have a family and i want to get old with my future husband".
"Well,that's not up to you to decide,that's up to Ben what he wants to do with you next".
"I do not want him to decide for me what i want or what i want to be.It's my life and i get to decide for myself what and what not to do with my life.Who does he think he is that he will do so with me?"
"He is your guardian,that's what he is and you can't change that even if you want to".
"I just want a normal life,Daisy,i don't want this".
"It is to late for that my sweetheart,now that you know to much and everything".
Every night Ben comes in my room to feed on me and then one day he sais to me:"Taste this and you will never want to taste anything else".He gave me a cup to drink and i drank it without hessitating.It tasted like iron and blood.
Ben makes me drink his blood every night.Why do i not refuse him?Why do i do the things he wants me to do?Why do i not say a word to him?
Daisy says that i am being compelled by him.I would do anything he tells me to do.I will not have the strenght to fight back.
Days went by and it was the same routine over and over again.In the morning i will have a little breakfast and at night i will drink a cup of Ben's blood.
But one morning everything was different. I had this headache and the sun was burning in my eyes.I always wake up with the sun in my eyes,always loved it.But today it was irritating me.I called for Daisy to close the curtains for me.She looks at me in a stange way as she wanted to tell me something."Daisy,i asked,"why are you looking at me like that?"I could see it in your eyes that you want to say something to me."
"Bree you are dead." WHAAT" i screamed at her."Ben told us this morning that he had killed you last night.He needed a partner to hunt with him at night." I cried and cried,like i never cried before.My life is forever doomed.All my dreams has fallen apart."Why, i scream at Daisy,why me." I have done nothing wrong.I kept everything a secret of what i know.I never leave the house,i never talk to anybody.He had ruining my life,i will get him for this,i will kill him."Daisy,i pleeded,"help me find a way to kill him,help me find a way to destroy him,please." "We will help you,because he broke a promise he made to Lizzy."The promise was that he may never change you no matter what happens.It must be a dicesion you have to make on your own if you want to be one of them or not.We will help,that's a promise we make to you.
Ben is sleeping in the dungan now,he won't be awake till the sunset.
Vampires weakest points are the sunlight and werewolves.Ben will never leave the house during sunlight,so we can't do nothing about that.He had put a lock on the door,so we can't drag him out.Werewolves are living in this city.We know a few of them,because we helped them with some stuff.Ben will hunt again and he always tells us where.We will go now to warn the wolves.You stay in here and do not leave the room till we tell you.You just be yourself,do not be nerveus when you see him.He hears you from a long distance and notice things very quikly.
It seems that Ben notice something is going on,because he wasn't hunting for a few days.Ha stayed in the house with me and watching every move i make.I want him dead,so did what Daisy told me.Acted like everything was normal.
At the dinnertable we drank blood from one of his victims.Ben talked and i listened.If he asked me a question,i replyed.
Nights went by and Ben wasn't still hunting.One day Daisy came to my room :"Ben heard that the werewolves were on the hunt,so that's why he brought his victims home.That's why he wasn't hunting anymore.He will leave tonight,to see if the coast is clear and he will bring you along with him."But i can't,i said,if the woves are out there,they will hunt me too." "No,they will not,because we told them,who they must kill for us."You will go as plan and when you hear the wolves cries you must try to clime in a tree and stay put.You wait there for us till we come and get you."But how will you kow where to find me?"
